Shu Li ™ uses the Mandarin tree, the
finest, most effective, and considered
the premium source in the Orient, along with two fine energy sources,
tourmaline and germanium, to help draw toxins from the body.
Shu Li ™ utilizes Pyroligneous Acid
that is made from a renewable source of wood that is harvested in an
environmentally friendly way. There are different grades of
Pyroligneous Acid, extracted from different types of woods. Some are
good for fertilizing the land, while others are good enough for human
use. Crude Pyroligneous Acid is refined by fractional distillation to
separate a food grade version that is suitable for use in health
products. The process is specially designed, and closely monitored, to
ensure that harmful, or toxic, by-products are eliminated.
We care for the conservation of our environment as
much as we insist upon the high quality of our products.
Shu Li ™ may help:
• Absorb toxins released by the body
• Alleviate minor pain in the body
• Support normal blood circulation
• Reduce swelling in the body
• Improve quality of sleep
The Making Of wood Vinegar (Pyroligneous Acid)
One chemical industry that was ubiquitous in earlier
times (1920’s) was the wood distillation industry. The principle
product, after processing, was a charcoal with low yields of chemical
products. The wood used for distillation was air dried for 6 to 18
months. Artificial drying methods were later developed to shorten the
drying time and better control the moisture content.
During distillation, wood is placed inside an oven and
heating started. When wood is heated above 270C, it begins a process of
decomposition called carbonization. If air is absent, the final product
is charcoal (since there is no oxygen present to react with the wood).
If air, which contains oxygen is present, the wood will catch fire, and
burn when it reaches a temperature of 400-500C. The final product is
wood ash.
If wood is heated while away from air, moisture is
first driven off, and until this is complete, the wood temperature
remains at 100-110C. When the wood is dry, its temperature rises to
about 270C, it spontaneously decomposes, and heat is emitted. This is
the well-known reaction that takes place during charcoal burning.
The first distillate (condensation from the gases) is
almost entirely water and it is not until about the 4th hour that the
liquor slowly darkens and contains increasing amounts of acid. The
crude condensate produced from the distillation of wood is called
Pyroligneous Acid.
The crude Pyroligneous Acid is then refined by
fractional distillation to separate a food grade version that is
suitable for use in health products.
How It Works
The Shu Li ™ Pouch is a bag that
contains a mixture of powdered ingredients. The pouch is placed in
contact with the skin, and held in place over a number of hours. The
typical contact points on the body chosen would be the soles of the
feet. However, it can also be used in areas where there is discomfort,
for example: shoulder, back, knee, ankle, elbow etc.

Stimulation Of Meridian points:
The concept of stimulating acupuncture points at the
base of the feet, for example, through reflexology massage, is well
established. Meridians in Chinese culture may be understood as channels
that link various parts of the body. Stimulation of points along such
meridians, by the use of needles or massage, may stimulate other organs
or bodily functions that are related to that meridian.
Far Infra Red Radiation
Shu Li ™ Pouch utilizes the Far Infra Red Radiation
(FIR) effect of certain materials to generate that stimulus. FIR has
been researched for many years in places like Japan, China, the US, and
Sweden for a wide variety of conditions. One effect of FIR is that it
may replicate a cardiovascular training effect with people confined to
a wheel chair, who are therefore unable to exercise in the conventional
way. Some research has even suggested the idea that Infra Red
stimulation of the cardiovascular system could be a possible means of
maintaining cardiovascular conditioning in astronauts during long space
flights.
Safe, And Effective
Our Shu Li ™ Pouch uses a special powderized,
purified, aged Pyroligneous Acid that is free of harmful substances
such as methanol, and phenols. The powdered wood vinegar is made from a
50% mixture of pure wood vinegar. This is a higher concentration then
the norm, which is generally 10-30-5 wood vinegar by weight when
powdered.
Effect That Lasts
We have designed the product for an overall longer
lasting effect. Generally, the effect from the Shu Li ™ Pouch ceases
when all of the powder in the bag has absorbed moisture. The quantity
of powder in each bag is very high. It contains 5 grams of refined wood
vinegar, and other high quality ingredients. With the use of an
absorbent bag material, each pouch will normally remain effective for
at least 7 hours in use. After effective absorption of released toxins
and moisture from the body has occurred, the particles within the pouch
turn a deep brown in color and the pouch hardens somewhat.
Usage
For overall health, place the pouches on the soles of
the feet at night before retiring. Pouches may also be applied to
shoulders, or joints where there is discomfort. For maximum
utilization, and benefit keep pouches on for at least 7 hours. You may
need to wear socks over the pouches to keep them from being rubbed off
if you move around while you are sleeping. You may also use the pouches
in the daytime.
Directions: Place as desired.
Place the pouch bag with the printed side facing the sticky surface of
the enclosed plaster sheet. Apply to the desired location. The powder
in the pouch bag will turn a deeper brown color after use, and have a
sticky texture.
On certain parts of the body, you may find that even
after several hours in use, the color of the powders in the bag remains
unchanged. This is entirely normal.

Shu Li™ Pouch FAQ
1.What is Far Infrared?
Far Infrared is that part of the electromagnetic
spectrum from 5.6 to 1,000 micron wavelength. The Far Infrared segment
of the electromagnetic spectrum occurs just below, or infra to, red
light as the next, lowest, energy band. This band of light is not
visible to human eyes, but can be seen by special cameras that
translate infrared into visible colors. The sun produces most of its
energy in the infrared segment of the spectrum. Our atmosphere has a
‘window’ in it that allows infrared rays in the 7 to 14 micron ranges
to safely reach the earth’s surface. When warmed, the earth radiates
infrared rays in the 7 to 14 micron bands with a peak output at 10
microns.
Our tissues normally produce infrared energy for
warmth, and tissue repair. Tissue production of infrared energy is
associated with a variety of healing responses. At times, the infrared
energy in our tissues may require a boost to a higher level to ensure
the fullest healing possible for tissue repair. Body tissues that need
an infrared boost selectively absorb infrared rays; after boosting a
tissue’s infrared energy, the remaining rays pass onward harmlessly.
This phenomena is called ‘resonant absorption.’ Our bodies radiate
infrared energy through the skin at 3 to 50 microns, with most output
being at 9.4 microns. Our palms emit energy too, from 8 to 14 microns.
Infrared energy penetrates tissues to a depth of over
one inch. Its energy output is tuned to correspond closely to the
body’s own radiant energy so that body tissues absorb close to 93% of
the Infrared waves that reach the skin.
Our Shu Li Detox Pouch has been lab tested to
demonstrate that the concentration of wood vinegar powder used has
indeed a Far Infrared emission of 40 degrees C. Many materials have to
be heated up before demonstrating this behavior. In the case of
Tourmaline for example, it has to be heated to a 70 to 80 degrees C. to
exhibit this property. Interestingly enough, this is not the case with
the wood vinegar in our Shu Li Detox Pouch.
2. How Does Shu Li Work?
The Shu Li ™ Pouch, does not ease aches and pains by
means of heat. This is not like a ‘chill plaster’, or a ‘deep heat’
method. It uses Far Infrared to stimulate the reflex points on the
soles of the feet, (do it while you sleep). By doing so, the product
may affect the whole body’s circulation.
What Shu Li ™ Pouch is therefore doing is to encourage
‘self-healing’ by promoting improved circulation. We do not treat, or
cure anything by putting an active ingredient into the body. When you
cut yourself, and the doctor puts stitches in, the stitch does not heal
the wound. Your body closes the wound with its own healing process, and
the stitches simply allow your body the time to get that done.
3. Why is The Pouch sometimes wet, and
sometimes not?
The powder material in Shu Li ™, is hydroscopic,
(attracts water). This being true, you have effectively put a ‘sink’
against your skin when using the ‘Pouch’. If there is excess fluid
accumulation at the point of the body where the ‘Pouch’ is applied, or
if used at the bottom of the feet, then the ‘Pouch’ will most likely be
wet. If the ‘Pouch’ is applied to a joint where there is no excess
fluid retention, then the powder will remain relatively dry, even after
a number of hours.
The ‘Pouch’ turns brown when it is wet, however you
get different shadings of brown depending on the user.
4. Have the toxins in the pouch been tested?
We have NOT tested the chemical composition of the
fluids that are absorbed into the ‘Pouch.’
5. If ‘The Pouch’ is dry, may I reuse it?
No, once your ‘Pouch’ has been used, it will be
slightly moist, (even though you may not detect it visually, or by
touch) and for hygienic purposes, this is not recommended.
6. How often, and how long should a person use
the product? Additionally, how can a person determine when to ‘stop’
using ‘The Pouch’?
The ‘Shu Li ™ Pouch’, does not ‘cure!’ It may,
however, facilitate your own body’s self-healing system. In general,
users will start to feel the effect of the product within 3 to 4 days
of use on the soles of the feet (2 pouches, one on the sole of each
foot). The question of ‘how long’ is then a matter of the users own
conditions, or complaints.
The experience thus far in Asia has been for the users
to actively apply the product daily for 3 to 30 days. Thereafter many
of our users go into a maintenance mode. We have many cases of people
reporting benefits after just one use, but, as mentioned, it would be
more realistic to expect the average person to require 3 to 4 days to
notice anything. This is assuming that there are specific needs to be
addressed.
Users should continue use for as long as they feel the
benefits of the product. If there is no obvious condition, or problem,
then use The Shu Li ™ Pouch as a health maintenance device once a week.
Your body is continually generating and disposing of
waste products. Therefore users will notice that, when used on the
soles of the feet, the pouches tend to be wet even after regular use.
This is quite normal. As part of an overall health program, Shu Li ™
Pouches may assist in absorbing toxins released by the body on a
regular basis.
7 . Is it safe to use?
The Shu Li ™ Pouch does not deliver any chemicals into
your body. It merely supports your body’s innate functions. It is
therefore very safe. The powder is acidic, but not much more so than
the natural acidity of your skin.
The Shu Li ™ Pouch, has been independently lab tested
to ensure that it does not contain any harmful heavy metals such as
lead, mercury etc.
8. I am using the pouch, and my joints hurt
even more! Why is that?
Everyone’s response to the healing process is
different. Some may experience a so-called healing crisis, but most do
not. Users who experience this will most likely be those whose problems
are chronic, or ‘old’, complaints. This stimulation of reflex points
and associated circulation will act to assist the body in its recovery
process. It is most likely that such users will find that the
discomfort is tolerable and that it will disappear in a day or two with
continued use of the pouch. An excellent example is to relate to the
experience of those who have tried acupressure on the feet. It may hurt
a lot during the process, but, the recovery afterwards is promoted by
it.
9. What does the Tourmaline, and the Germanium
do?
The information below has been extracted from
abstracts of patents, that utilize Tourmaline, and Germanium for
certain functions and are intended as brief representations of the
current knowledge about these crystals. These crystal powders
(particularly Tourmaline) enhance the overall effect of the pouch and
contribute to the product’s effectiveness.
Tourmaline:
Tourmaline is a complex borosilicate mineral with a
variety of unusual pyroelectric and piezoelectric properties. It is
probably best known for its use as a gemstone. However, in recent years
it has begun to find a number of other uses that are in one way or
another connected to its unique electrical activity. This results from
the presence of permanent electrodes within the crystalline structure.
In particular, Tourmaline in water produces an electrical charge that
dissociates the water molecule into hydrogen, and hydroxyl ions, which
in turn produce hydronium ions (H.sub.3 O.sup.+) and hydrated hydroxyl
ion (H.sub.3 O.sub.2.sup.-) by their reactions with H.sub.2 O
molecules. Both of these ions are reported to have surface activating
properties.
These observations have resulted in the use of
Tourmaline in a variety of different industrial products and methods
such as a system for water treatment in which Tourmaline is used in an
ion generator to generate hydronium and hydroxyl ions in the water.
With the resultant ‘high surface activity’ in the water, it is then
recommended for use in detergent-free washing in washing machines and
in cleaning oil contaminated machinery. In a similar vein, U.S. Patent
No. 5,309,739 describes a Tourmaline coating applied to a surface of a
washing machine with the intent of forming hydroxyl ions in the
wastewater to aid in cleansing. It has also been described (Japanese
Patent JP 7024444) as being used in powder form in a shower apparatus
to treat chlorinated water to alter the chlorine structure, allowing it
to retain its water-purifying activity while reducing the possible
negative effects of chlorine.
Tourmaline has also, in connection with its electrical
properties, been suggested as being useful in promoting physical
well-being. For example, JP 6173162, describes fabric coated with a
film containing Tourmaline, which, when made into clothing, is said to
provide an electrical stimulus to the wearer’s skin to improve the
wearer’s health. Likewise, JP 8057060, describes a ‘health tool’ based
on a substrate incorporating powdered Tourmaline and a diode, which is
applied to the skin to achieve a therapeutic effect.
Germanium:
Germanium, (in external application) manifests
anti-inflammatory effect when used on stiff shoulders, muscle and joint
discomfort. However, the mechanism for delivering such benefits has not
been clarified.
There is an opinion that, when Germanium is applied to
a diseased part, it removes an abnormal electric potential of the human
body (by electron interchange) to bring the body back to the normal
electric potential, because:
a. Germanium is apt to be positively charged due to the escape of the
peripheral electron, (i.e., Germanium has strong electrophilic
properties) and
b. A diseased part or a body part with stiffness or discomfort has an
increased electron potential.
